OUS
offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum
which challenges students to view learning as
stimulating and rewarding while preparing them
to realize and enjoy their full potential as individuals.
Our ultimate goal is to produce life-long learners
who recognize the worth and delight of self, others,
and learning.
Early
childhood programs encourage the development of
the total child with emphasis on socialization
skills. Math manipulatives, reading readiness
programs, science and social studies are an important
part of the Pre-Kindergarten, Junior Kindergarten
and Senior Kindergarten curriculum.
Core
subjects in grades one through eight include language
arts, math, social studies, and science. These
core classes are enhanced with classes in visual
and performing arts, computers, foreign languages,
physical education, independent studies and academically
oriented field trips. Many after school and exploratory
courses are also available.
OUS
students are required to particpate in community
service projects. Over the years students learn
to value the importance of giving back to the
larger community around them.
