Oxford
University School was founded in 1984 on a belief
in people. The school and its employees believe
in children -- in their uniqueness today and their
promise for tomorrow.
OUS is a not-for-profit, coeducational, nonsectarian day school. Courses are offered for |
students age three through grade seven.
Since 1984, the school has continued to receive the highest level of accreditation (AA) by the Mississippi Private School Association.
OUS
facilities include two classroom buildings, a gymnasium,
outdoor science lab, writing lab, and playground situated
on 10 wooded acres. These facilities are located directly
across from Baptist Hospital of North Mississippi.
There are currently 31 faculty members and support staff
at OUS, many of whom hold advanced degrees. The ratio
of students to teachers in the elementary classrooms
is 9 to 1.
OUS is governed by a Board of Directors made up of parents
who are elected for three-year terms. The Head of School
works closely with the Board and faculty to implement
the school's mission and supervise day to day operations.
