Message from the Headmaster

Welcome to the Oxford University School website.  This website is intended to provide you with an overview of our school as well as contact information.  Also, for current families the website offers a wealth of information by which to be knowledgeable about scheduled activities.  However, in order to get a true feel for what our school is all about, you really must visit the campus.  A guided tour will enable you to see first-hand our outstanding students being taught by extraordinarily talented teachers.  Additionally, you will see these children and their teachers engaging each other in the learning process with excitement, energy, enthusiasm, and enjoyment.

Oxford University School has a proud tradition of providing an outstanding education for its students.  During the past twenty-five years OUS has served children from early childhood ages through upper elementary grades.  Our students have gone on to middle schools and high schools well-prepared, as witnessed by the very high numbers achieving excellence in those schools.

Oxford University School is very demanding of its students.  They must study hard, participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, and maintain high standards of behavior.  OUS also requires much from its parents who pay tuition and fees while still funding the public education system.  In addition, they are asked to make gifts to the annual fund to further enhance the educational experience and to provide supervision of their child’s study time and activities.

In return, Oxford University School actively involves parents in the educational process.  Parents are invited to be full partners in educating their children by attending conferences with teachers, participating in parent organization activities, and supporting the activities involving their children.  The results is a dynamic environment where teachers and parents work in concert to provide opportunities for children to explore, learn, mature, and develop a sense of who they are.
